Stéphane Bancel has been the Chief Executive Officer of the biotech firm Moderna since 2011, known for its Covid-19 vaccine. Before that, he was the CEO of French pharma company BioMérieux.
Moderna was founded in 2010 it develops drugs and vaccines using messenger RNA. Covid-19 vaccine was granted full approval for use on January 31, 2022, it had previously received emergency-use authorization in December 2020.

Not only known for his role in the creation of the vaccine, Stéphane Bancel is famous for his leadership style, using a relentlesscollective and challenging environment.

He tells us about the vaccine of course, but above all about the mechanisms behind this success, namely, the obsession for innovation, the importance of platformization and digitization, and the need for an organizational culture mixing risk acceptance, unconventional disruption and willingness to learn…
